Abstract

As a result ofthe First National Survey ofConsumption, Likes

and Food Preferences, 576 questionnaires were evaluated. These results were processed take into account the dietary fiber content data obtain by the Research Institute of the Alimentary Industry and the Nutrient Data Base ofthe USA. This paper showed that the dietary fiber ingestion in most of those interview were under the nutritional recommendation from 25 to 30 glperson/day. The consumption average per capita of dietary :fiber in both areas was 14.6 g. Cereals and leguminous contributed to the highest percentages of :fiber to the diet and in lesser proportion the fruits and vegetables.
