Abstract

In the this work it is analyzed how pertinent is the academic plan of the Food Science and Technology career at the University of  Havana  as a contribution  of the cuban  government to the strategy of  guarantee  Food and Nutritional Security.  It is analyzed how the present Plan remains the emphasis in this concept.  It is presented a view over the principal concepts like Study Objective; Professional Fields and Professional Functions as well as academic disciplines which  have a total or partial contribution to the professional performance in the specific field of  Food and Nutritional Security. It may be conclude that in the academic plan (Plan D), as minimum, 49% of total   time assigned has a direct relation with the concept.
